Well, it hasn't worked out exactly as we hoped. I can only say “Thank you” to all who've worked so hard to get us to this point. I cannot hope to remember and reward all of you as you so richly deserve, so please, even though you don't see your name here, know that I do look on you and your work fondly and gratefully. We have yard signs in a myriad of places: in front of your homes, at intersections, along major streets. They did not get there on their own. I don't have access to all the numbers, but literally thousands of doorbells rang because you walked up and pushed the buttons. Who talked to their neighbors? You did, and I know it and thank you for making that effort. And money — we got the money needed for the signs, the literature you dropped off, and sending the letter Jacquie wrote to 4,000 unaffiliated women in the district. None of that is trivial. It was all important, and there is no way I can tell you just how important nor how much I am awestruck that you did it. Please know that I celebrate the hard work, the dedication, the energy you expended on our behalf. As I write my life story, your work is prominent on those pages. Nothing in a loss makes me anything less than grateful to all of you who've done so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sincerely and gratefully, |
